Construction Supervisor

Location: Site-based

Rotation: 14x14 or 8x6 (based on project needs)

Compensation: $80–$95/hour

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor to support multi-discipline oil sands construction projects in a field-based environment. This role is focused on execution and coordination across piping, structural, civil, and facilities construction activities within active operating environments.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in oil sands or SAGD construction, with experience overseeing contractors, coordinating field execution, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules, specifications, and QA/QC requirements.

This is a 1 year contract.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily field execution activities across piping, structural, civil/piling, and facilities construction scopes
Supervise contractors and field personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations
Support construction planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and execution readiness activities
Monitor contractor performance, productivity, equipment utilization, and schedule adherence
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, Production, Surface Land, and Construction teams
Review drawings, redlines, and field changes to support successful project execution
Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and QA/QC requirements
Support vendor coordination, bid reviews, contractor onboarding, and performance evaluation
Assist with construction reporting, progress tracking, and turnover documentation
Act as SAP Cost Manager for assigned scopes, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting
Ensure all work complies with environmental, regulatory, and corporate safety requirements

Qualifications & Experience

8+ years of construction supervision experience within oil sands, SAGD, or heavy industrial environments
Strong experience overseeing piping and structural construction activities
Experience coordinating civil, piling, grading, or underground utility scopes is required
Working knowledge of QA/QC processes, turnover documentation, and construction verification activities
Experience supporting planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking activities
Experience coordinating multiple contractors and vendors within active operating environments
Familiarity with mechanical, piping, and facilities construction execution
E&I construction experience is considered an asset
Experience with SAP or similar project cost tracking systems is an asset
Strong understanding of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental practices

Pay: $80.00-$95.00 per hour

Experience:

QA/QC knowledge and civil/piling: 3 years (required)
cost estimating, planning, and scheduling: 1 year (preferred)
piping and structural construction : 5 years (required)
