Overview

BARR LLP is currently looking for an experienced Commercial Paralegal to assist our Commerical Team. The ideal candidate must have experience in a law office setting handling a high volume of commercial and lending transactions. Candidates without experience will not be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

Commercial real estate transactions – drafting and full process of legal and banking documents in the areas of purchase, sale and refinance from opening to closing file.
Review purchase and sale contracts, financing documents leases and Land Titles documents
Provide support for acquisitions and sales of: commercial properties, condominium developments, financing transactions and land development
Carry out title and off-title due diligences searches on commercial properties and reviewing reports
Commercial lending transactions
Private equity lending transactions
Drafting statutory right of ways, covenants, easements
Dealing with municipalities and strata corporations
Preparing contracts and closing documents

Skills & Requirements

1 + years of experience closing commercial real estate transactions
CORES training an asset
Commercial business lending background an asset
APPRES certification an asset
Knowledge or experience with LEAP an asset
Proficient with computers and office software, including intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
Highly organized and able to prioritize work
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated
Strong team player, demonstration of a positive work ethic
Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
Strong customer service and phone skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must speak, read, and write English fluently; other language skills are an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
