JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting the Manager and Lead in implementing and maintaining enterprise infrastructure on premises and in the cloud. The Systems Analyst provides subject matter expertise on a grouping of infrastructure technologies, for either services or corporate infrastructure, and provides support in the selection and implementation of new infrastructure and/or IaaS and PaaS agreements. The Systems Analyst is also responsible for on-going operational support which includes problem/incident resolution, routine maintenance, and delivering on enhancement and change requests. The Systems Analyst also supports infrastructure roadmap planning and is accountable for maintaining current awareness of vendor product development cycles. In supporting the infrastructure portfolio, the Systems Analyst works with business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure delivers value and meets business requirements for functionality, availability, and performance.
DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the designated Lead, and working within a team structure, this position is responsible for duties within infrastructure hybrid cloud management & support:
- Manage and monitor hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure, on-premises and cloud-based services
- Administering, installing, configuring, maintaining, hardware management and operating systems, and critical business applications and technology tools
- Ensure security through access controls. Integrating, investigating and reporting with operational and security monitoring tools
- Acts as the subject matter expert on technologies in area of responsibility
- Monitoring critical production processes, technologies, and applications that have high visibility and impact on business operations
- Proactively identifying application risk and mitigation, capacity availability & continuity management, providing input to organizational disaster recovery and emergency planning.
- Provides security operations tasks, including monitoring, investigation, and reporting
- Ensures all technologies are backed up successfully, and performs restore operations according to corporate policies and procedures
- Provides support, issue resolution, and request management, while working closely with other internal ITS teams, business, and vendors to resolve incidents and problems requiring multi-department involvement
- Works closely with the ITS team to collaborate on technical issues and solutions and providing knowledge transfer, training, and documentation
- Works closely with vendors to resolve technical issues, facilitating infrastructure upgrades as part of the technology life cycle management, while holding vendors accountable for contractual obligations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Maintains infrastructure architecture and support documentation and relevant training material that is available to team members and ensures that this material is being effectively employed
- Proactively identifies infrastructure risk and mitigation, capacity availability & continuity management. Provides input to organizational disaster recovery and emergency planning
- Conducts research, evaluations and supports report development and preparation of procurement documentation
- Participates in regular team, business, and committee meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned
- On-call evening, weekend and callback work, as well as occasional work from other TPL branches/locations may be required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and certification
- Minimum of five (5) of years related experience in hybrid multi-cloud technology, planning, implementing and maintaining infrastructure
- Extensive hands-on experience and specific skill set in IT infrastructure technologies within the area of assignment and demonstrated ability in supporting installation, administration, troubleshooting, and security issues
- Hands-on experience to build, configure, test, and deploy enterprise and multi-cloud Windows based infrastructure
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing enterprise storage SAN
- Be able to utilize Cybersecurity and other system tools to ensure security compliance of Operating Systems and Applications
- Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.
- Experience with system builds from scratch or images; install servers and other infrastructure hardware, Windows operating system application software
- Knowledge of architecture principles, networking, security standards, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, show initiative and self-direction, maintain currency of knowledge, and identify and solve problems that require investigation and creativity, under sustained pressure in a results-oriented team environment
- Demonstrated ability to respond flexibly and productively to multiple and changing priorities in a variety of work environments, including joint project teams, work with consultants, and on individual assignments
- Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and assignments with high quality deliverables
- Ability to hold vendors accountable for contractual obligations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills
Assignment Technologies:
The Systems Analyst supports implementation and maintenance of the following or similar technologies, including provision of subject matter expertise:
- Windows Server, Windows Hyper-V, Azure stack HCI, Azure compute, containers, storage, networking, and security incident and event management
- MS Exchange, Veeam backup, SharePoint, O365, Security, Authentication including Azure AD, SAML and SCIM, Webex, MS Teams, Azure virtual desktop (AVD), SCCM, KMS, Active Directory Infrastructure, and Group Policies (GPO)
- PowerShell and other scripting languages
