Overview:

A Senior Detailer/Checker in the field of structural or steel detailing plays a pivotal role in the construction and engineering industry. This position involves reviewing and checking detailed drawings, models, and plans to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and compliance with project specifications. The seniority indicates a higher level of expertise and often involves mentoring junior detailers and collaborating closely with engineering and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Detailing Review: Thoroughly review and check detailed drawings, models, and plans created by the detailing team to ensure accuracy in dimensions, material specifications, and adherence to industry and project standards.
Code and Standards Compliance: Ensure that all detailing work complies with relevant building codes, industry standards, and project specifications. Stay updated on the latest codes and standards.
Coordination with Engineering Teams: Collaborate closely with structural engineers, architects, and other professionals to address design-related queries, provide clarifications, and resolve any discrepancies.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior detailers, helping them enhance their skills, understand project requirements, and improve overall detailing quality.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards in detailing work. Identify and rectify errors, omissions, or inconsistencies in drawings.

Experience: Several years of experience in structural or steel detailing, with a demonstrated progression to a senior level.
Detailing Software Proficiency: Proficient in using detailing software such as Tekla Structures, and Bluebeam.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and rectify detailing errors or discrepancies.
Leadership: Leadership qualities to guide and mentor junior detailers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Project Management: Basic understanding of project management principles and the ability to contribute to efficient project workflows.
