Patient Care Coordinator

Company: U Vision Group

Location: Brampton & Etobicoke

Compensation: $17.60 - 22 CAD per hour, matching based on candidate profile

Our commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability ensures that we meet the unique needs of our patients through comprehensive surgical and non-surgical procedures, including laser and cosmetic treatments.

Job Summary

A Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for offering a quality customer service experience and ensuring that a high level of patient care is always maintained. The ability to ensure that proper assessment of doctors' needs in relation to prepping patients and testing is also
required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide superior customer service and patient care
Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly
Ensure accurate patient documentation recorded in the medical database
Gathering medical records and patient information
Taking ocular measurements
Providing eye care information to the patient
Maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments
Ability to assist the ophthalmologist in preparing patients for treatments and procedures
Ability to operate ophthalmic instruments and/or equipment
Ensure exam lanes, patient technician rooms, and patient technician storage are
kept neat and tidy
Assessing patients’ vision prior to seeing doctors
Preparing patients for lasers, injections, and minor procedures
Clean and sterilize instruments
Replenishing exam lane supplies (drops, syringe, information sheets, etc.) at the end of the day
Ensure that all patient interactions are dealt with confidentially and any
Confidential paperwork is dealt with in accordance with practice protocol

Qualifications & Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in medical or Biology or relevant areas.
2 years of experience in healthcare setup.
Previous experience at an ophthalmic clinic is a strong asset.
Knowledge of OSCAR EMR is a strong asset
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and computer skills
Can work well independently and within a team
Strong attention to detail
Candidate must be able to handle a high paced environment
Alignment with company values
Ability to identify problems during procedures
Positive attitude, pleasant and professional manner in person and over the phone
Excellent problem-solving skills
Additional language is an asset
