Commercial HVACR Service Manager

Tradium Mechanical Inc. is seeking a driven, results-oriented Commercial HVACR Service Manager to lead and grow our commercial service division. Key Responsibilities
Drive Business Growth
- Identify and pursue service and repair opportunities through regular client interaction and site visits
- Convert leads into service work, estimates, and long-term client relationships
- Build and maintain a strong service backlog to ensure consistent year-round workflow
- Support growth of preventative maintenance agreements and recurring revenue opportunities
Lead & Develop the Team
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of 8+ HVAC technicians and apprentices
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
- Mentor technicians to identify additional service opportunities while on-site
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing training initiatives
Manage Service Operations
- Oversee dispatching, scheduling, and service coordination to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Ensure all service work is completed safely, on time, within scope, and to company standards
- Monitor technician productivity and optimize team performance
- Collaborate with office staff, project teams, and leadership to improve processes and customer experience
- Utilize dispatching, scheduling, estimating, and service management software to support operational efficiency
Health & Safety Leadership
- Support and promote company health and safety initiatives across all service operations
- Ensure technicians and subcontractors comply with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular safety discussions, field reviews, and reinforce safe work practices
- Work closely with leadership to maintain a strong safety culture and continuously improve safety performance
Technical & Customer Leadership
- Serve as the senior technical resource for complex service issues
- Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
- Handle escalations and ensure timely resolution of service concerns
- Conduct occasional site visits and provide field support when required
Financial & Project Oversight
- Prepare and review service quotes, estimates, and small project budgets
- Track job progress, costs, and completion timelines
- Support invoicing and job costing to ensure profitability
- Help drive revenue growth and gross margin performance within the service department
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service, including leadership experience
- Valid HVAC certifications such as:
- Gas Fitter 1 (G1)
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A)
- Or equivalent qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and improve operational performance
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computer applications and software platforms used for:
- Email communication
- Scheduling and dispatching
- Estimating and quoting
- Reporting and service coordination
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and service dispatching/management software is required
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the service territory
Service Territory
Based out of Brampton, Ontario, this role oversees commercial service operations throughout:
- Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
- North to Collingwood
- West to Kitchener and Burlington
- East to Oshawa
This is a remote-based position with regular travel throughout the service territory for customer site visits, team meetings, and occasional attendance at company or coworking locations.
