Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Climber to join our arboriculture team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely climbing, pruning, and removing trees while utilizing specialized equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of rigging, horticulture, and landscape maintenance to ensure the health of trees and safety of the work environment. The Tree Climber will work closely with ground crews and supervisors to deliver high-quality tree care services in various outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

Safely ascend and descend trees using climbing gear and techniques to perform pruning, trimming, or removal tasks.
Operate bucket trucks and bucket operation equipment to access high branches or difficult areas.
Use rigging techniques to lower large limbs or sections of trees safely to the ground.
Conduct landscape maintenance activities related to tree health, including fertilization, pest control, and planting.
Assist with GIS mapping and documentation of tree locations and health status for planning and reporting purposes.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.
Maintain equipment, tools, and safety gear in proper working condition.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while prioritizing safety.

Experience

Previous experience in arboriculture, landscape maintenance, or horticulture is preferred.
Knowledge of rigging techniques and the safe operation of bucket trucks is highly desirable.
Familiarity with GIS technology related to landscape or urban forestry projects is a plus.
Experience working with bucket operation equipment and understanding of tree biology are advantageous.
Candidates should have a strong background in horticulture or related fields, with an emphasis on safety and precision in tree care activities. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors on challenging projects that contribute to community beautification and environmental health. Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
