Full job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead our estimating efforts on commercial and residential projects. This is a key role within the organization, requiring a seasoned professional who can manage the full estimating cycle with confidence and accuracy. The Senior Estimator will work closely with the Chief Estimator and serve as a mentor to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze architectural and engineering drawings and specifications in detail
Produce clear, thorough, and accurate quantity take-offs
Assemble complete estimates and proposals for commercial and residential projects
Attend site meetings and pre-bid walkthroughs as required
Collaborate with the Chief Estimator to prioritize projects and manage the quoting schedule
Assist in procuring materials and equipment for awarded projects
Mentor and support Junior Estimators in developing their skills
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and/or residential estimating
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Proven track record of producing accurate, competitive estimates
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with Planswift, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field is an asset
