Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our collaborative construction team. This entry-level role offers a genuine opportunity to develop hands-on skills in construction estimating, project coordination, and supplier/subcontractor negotiations while working alongside experienced professionals.

You will support senior estimators and project managers by preparing accurate cost estimates, coordinating project activities, and helping ensure smooth communication across teams. This position is ideal for someone passionate about the construction industry who is eager to learn, contribute meaningfully from day one, and grow their career in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist senior estimators in preparing accurate and competitive construction cost estimates using InSite and Bluebeam software.
Collaborate with project teams to gather and analyze data for pricing, budgeting, and forecasting.
Support project coordination by tracking timelines, deliverables, milestones, and resource allocation.
Participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and to identify potential risks or value-engineering opportunities.
Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation for estimates, change orders, bid proposals, and project correspondence.
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to support seamless project execution.
Contribute to the development of bid proposals and assist with preparing presentation materials.

Qualifications

Required

Strong interest in construction estimating and project management, with a basic understanding of construction processes, terminology, and industry standards.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred

Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Familiarity with construction estimating software such as InSite or Bluebeam.
Previous co-op, internship, or entry-level experience in construction, estimating, or project coordination.
Basic understanding of construction pricing strategies and negotiation principles.
