JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will oversee a broad range of accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Accounting. This role requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.

Reports to: Financial Controller
Salary: $75,000 – 85,000 (based on your experience and qualifications, with real opportunity for advancement as you grow with us.)
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Payable
- Review AP aging reports and oversee vendor payment runs to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and overdue payments to support healthy cash flow.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies to resolution.
Payroll
- Manage full-cycle payroll for both unionized and non-unionized employees.
- Calculate and process commission payments accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare, remit, and reconcile EHT, WSIB, and union reporting obligations.
- Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and prepare T4s and T2200s.
- Reconcile payroll liabilities and employee expense accounts.
General Accounting
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Support external audit activities and coordinate requests from auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Assist in improving financial reporting processes and automation initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY OPERATE IN THE ROLE
EDUCATION:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or progress toward designation is considered an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with QuickBooks is a strong asset.
- Previous experience supporting operational finance activities is an asset.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY EXECUTE THE ABOVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, QuickBooks Enterprise, online banking, and payroll platforms is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
