Status: Temporary Part Time (3 Month Contract)
Department: Patient Registration

Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends; 4 and 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)

Wage Schedule: $30.700 - $32.350 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 25 June 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 3 July 2026.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Manager Patient Registration and Central Booking, the Registration/ Admitting Clerk is responsible for office and clerical functions in the Emergency Department including: registering all Emergency patients, providing direction and information to ER patients and their families; utilizing EPIC registration module, documenting WSIB, collecting and documenting insurance information, creating financial forms and receiving payments, answering telephone inquiries and relaying accurate messages; morgue processes, and other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and 2 years recent experience;
Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Knowledge of EPIC;
Keyboarding skills of 35 w.p.m. (tested);
Knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
Proven ability to work well in a high paced environment with frequent interruptions;
Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter;
Physically capable of reaching, pulling, bending, walking, lifting, carrying frequently throughout the shift to accomplish tasks;
Proven attention to detail;
The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritization, organizational and time-management abilities;
Must have satisfactory performance record;
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;
Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area.
