Full job description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to support our client's finance team. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable processes, supporting banking activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Rate: $ 25.55/hour
Location: Port Perry, ON
Shift: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00 OR 8:30am - 4:30pm
Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable

Enter all payables received via email and internal sources
Print and process invoices from online accounts
Verify proper approvals and authorizations prior to processing
Prepare and process semi-monthly payment runs for CEO approval
Calculate and prepare WSIB payments

Accounts Receivable

Create and process all accounts receivable invoices
Monitor A/R accounts and follow up to ensure timely collections
Investigate discrepancies and resolve account issues
Oversee accuracy of invoicing generated by the order desk

Banking

Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Prepare and provide required data for monthly bank reporting
Maintain all banking-related records, files, and processes

Deductions & Reporting

Generate and deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports as required

Additional Duties

Assist with monthly physician pay calculations using external Excel reports
Act as the primary contact for vendor inquiries and phone calls
Provide backup support for bank deposits
Perform balance sheet analysis and prepare appropriate adjustments
Support additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods (advance notice provided

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role
Post-secondary education or courses in Accounting or Bookkeeping (asset)
Experience working in a small to mid-sized organization (asset)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with Simply Accounting (Sage) and/or ADP Workforce Now (asset)
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
Effective organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
