Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic food service team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the overall operation of our kitchen. Ideal candidates will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and experience in food handling and customer service. The position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure timely service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with food safety standards
Support serving staff with guest orders and meal delivery as needed
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed
Help with general cleaning duties including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner
Support the team during busy periods by assisting with various kitchen tasks and guest services

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS is advantageous
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation processes
Experience in cashiering or cash handling is a plus
Hospitality or hotel experience is beneficial but not mandatory
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles within the kitchen environment
