Job Description

Assistant Cook/Cook’s Helper

Job Summary:

The Cook’s Helper is responsible for assisting the cook with the exceptional

preparation, and delivery of the resident and guests’ dining experience using

production checks and standardized recipes. This is a hybrid role that requires

partial cooking tasks as well as serving and dining room tasks.

Duties:

Assists with the preparation of daily meal service and special events to ensure

individual resident dietary needs are met.

Assists in serving residents in the dining room.
Ensuring that the services provided to residents meets or exceeds expectations.
Providing residents with a safe and comfortable environment.
Provides support to Service Team Leaders and other members of the dining

services team.

Assists with the delivery of essential food services that are immediately visible

to residents and potential clients.

Promotes wellness in the community among service team members, residents,

and guests.

Collaborates with other members of the Dining Team in the planning, provision,

and evaluation of services.

Operates and cleans food production equipment and food preparation areas in

accordance with established schedules.

Assists with orders
Is responsible for the safe, clean storage of food in the facility.

Requirements:

- Prior experience in a similar role within the food industry.

- 1-2 years cooking/ serving/kitchen experience in Retirement/LTC minimum.

- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.

- Understanding of food safety practices.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.

- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.

- Able to lift 10-20lbs
