Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team.

Part-time shift filling position with full-time at the end of August. Need somebody to take when they need a day off.

.The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cash handling, and food safety within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages following company recipes and standards
Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns
Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment sanitation and food safety compliance
Manage cash register operations efficiently, ensuring accurate transactions and change distribution
Assist in restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels throughout shifts
Uphold food safety standards by following proper food handling procedures
Demonstrate effective time management to serve customers promptly during busy periods

Requirements

Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is advantageous
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously
Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed
