Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling high-quality sushi rolls that delight our guests and uphold our restaurant’s reputation for excellence. Your expertise in food preparation, knife skills, and food safety will ensure each dish is crafted with precision and care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi rolls according to established recipes and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
Select fresh ingredients and handle food with care to preserve quality and flavor
Assist in menu planning by suggesting new roll ideas and ingredient combinations
Monitor inventory levels of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other ingredients, notifying management when supplies need replenishing
Follow proper food handling procedures during preparation, storage, and serving to prevent cross-contamination
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation

Skills

Extensive experience in food preparation, especially in sushi or Asian cuisine environments
Strong knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and rolling techniques
Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper sanitation practices
Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and food industry standards
Excellent food handling skills combined with a passion for culinary arts and serving guests with professionalism

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
