We’re looking for Bartenders and Servers who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy connecting with guests, and are excited to learn about and share our distinctive Spanish and Portuguese wine program.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for enthusiastic, personable, and service-focused Bartenders and Servers to join our team at Bodega Ellerslie.

Whether you’re behind the bar or taking care of guests on the floor, you’ll play an important role in creating the Bodega experience. We’re looking for people who are confident engaging with guests, eager to learn, and take pride in providing knowledgeable, attentive, and genuine hospitality.

Our wine program is a key part of what makes Bodega unique, and we’re looking for team members who are excited to learn about Spanish and Portuguese wines and share that knowledge with our guests in an approachable way.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Guest Experience

Create a warm, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere for every guest
Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive service throughout the dining experience
Build genuine relationships with guests and provide personalized recommendations
Take the time to understand what guests enjoy and make thoughtful food and beverage suggestions
Answer questions about our menu, wines, cocktails, and other beverages with confidence
Handle guest feedback professionally and help resolve concerns promptly
Create memorable experiences that encourage guests to return

Wine & Beverage

Develop a strong understanding of Bodega’s Spanish and Portuguese wine selection
Guide guests through our wine list and make recommendations based on their preferences
Suggest thoughtful wine and food pairings that enhance the dining experience
Share the stories, regions, varietals, and producers behind our wines in an approachable and engaging way
Continue developing your knowledge through tastings, education, and hands-on experience

Bartenders will also:

Prepare cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to Bodega’s standards
Maintain consistency, presentation, and quality with every beverage
Provide knowledgeable recommendations from our cocktail and beverage programs
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar throughout each shift

Teamwork & Operations

Work closely with fellow servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff to deliver seamless service
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming service environment
Assist with opening, closing, stocking, and side duties
Ensure all food and beverages are delivered accurately and presented to Bodega’s standards
Communicate effectively with the team during busy service periods
Follow all AGLC regulations, food safety requirements, and responsible liquor service practices
Contribute to a positive, professional, and supportive team culture

WHO YOU ARE

Previous restaurant, hospitality, serving, or bartending experience is an asset
A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences
Interested in wine and excited to learn more about Spanish and Portuguese wines
Comfortable making recommendations and engaging in conversation with guests
Friendly, outgoing, and confident
Able to multitask and remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
Reliable, professional, and dependable
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
A team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
ProServe certification, or the ability to obtain it prior to starting
Legally eligible to work in Canada

For Bartenders: Previous bartending experience and a strong interest in cocktails and beverage service are preferred.

For Servers: Previous serving experience is preferred, but we’re also interested in individuals with strong hospitality skills who are eager to learn and grow.
