Full job description

Summary: We're looking for a CIP/Sanitation Process Engineer to own our clean-in-place program end-to-end — wash validation, chemical/water testing, savings identification.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor our CIP data/reporting platform, reviewing daily wash logs and identifying deviations
Perform CIP and HTST wash validations (time, temperature, flow rate, concentration/titration)
Conduct water and chemical testing, including hardness, conductivity calibration, and sanitizer concentration checks
Review and interpret P&ID (piping and instrumentation) diagrams to verify CIP coverage, identify dead legs, and assess sanitation risks
Conduct mechanical inspections of pumps, valves, and pipelines to verify cleaning coverage and system integrity
Assist in developing and maintaining cleaning validation protocols and sanitation SOPs
Conduct ATP/RLU swab testing and follow-up corrective actions
Identify and implement chemical, water, and process savings opportunities
Troubleshoot CIP equipment issues (spray balls, flow rates, dosing pumps) alongside the maintenance team
Manage the relationship with our chemical supplier(s) and evaluate program performance

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on CIP/sanitation experience in a food or dairy processing plant
Experience validating HTST or thermal processing systems
Familiarity with CIP wash validation: conductivity, titration, flow rate, contact time
P&ID interpretation and identifying dead legs
Experience troubleshooting CIP dosing systems, spray ball coverage, and flow rate issues
Experience managing or evaluating a chemical vendor relationship
Experience with CIP data platforms
Familiarity with HACCP and CFIA-equivalent regulatory requirements
Dairy, cheese, or yogurt processing experience is an asset
