Full job description

We are opening a new Kerala restaurant in Guelph and looking for a friendly, reliable server to join our front of house team. We are willing to train the right person but you should come in with at least a basic familiarity with Kerala or South Indian food — whether from eating it, cooking it at home, or working around it. Guests will have questions about the menu and we need someone who can speak about this cuisine with some genuine comfort.

What you'll do:

Greet and seat guests, take orders accurately, and serve food and drinks in a timely manner. Learn our menu well enough to describe dishes, explain ingredients, and make recommendations. Handle special requests and dietary needs with care. Process payments and manage your tables throughout the shift. Keep the dining area clean and presentable. Work closely with the kitchen team to make sure service runs smoothly. Support your fellow servers during busy periods.

What we're looking for:

Basic familiarity with Kerala or South Indian cuisine — you should know the general flavour profiles, common dishes, and key ingredients even if you are not an expert. Warm, attentive, and professional with guests. Able to stay calm and organized during a busy service. Reliable, punctual, and a good team player. Genuine interest in learning the full menu and sharing that enthusiasm with guests.

Preferred but not required:

Previous serving or hospitality experience. Some knowledge of Kerala cuisine or experience in an Indian restaurant is a definite plus.
