Full job description

Our client in Essex, Ontario is looking for a Part-time Administrative Assistant/Reception with some basic knowledge of Human Resources to work 3 days per week with flexible hours of approximately 9 am to 2 pm, perfect for a mom with school aged children. Locally owned long standing company in Essex, ON.

Reception:

Answering, screen and forward calls as directed and taking messages in a a professional manner.
Re-direct calls to appropriate person.
Greeting visitors politely and professionally.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area that reflects the company’s commitment to high standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Administrative:

Coordinating courier deliveries.
Ordering office supplies as directed and approved.
Maintain office equipment e.g. photocopier by calling someone for maintenance.
Scan and organize payables.
Scan and organize receivables.
Other duties as assigned.

Human Resource Assistance:

Assistance with updating and keeping Health and Safety policies accurate and having sign offs.
Taking ownership to learn the health and safety rules and regulations.
Responding to employee inquiries related to company policies as directed.
Keeping up to date on the Employment Standards of Ontario regularly or reaching ot get correct answers for any policies or staff issues.
Assisting ownership with onboarding paperwork as directed.
Assisting and updating company policies as directed.
Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

Post Secondary diploma
1-2 years’ experience with Human Resources in an Administrate role
1-3 years’ experience in a Reception – Administrative role.
Experience in Microsoft Office Software Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
Adept at problem solving and troubleshooting as not everything is as it seems Strong client and interpersonal skills
Approachable, supportive team player with a strong sense of urgency and a demonstrated history of achieving common goals
Hours for the position is 3 days per week from 9 am – 2 pm or as agreed upon with before commencement of role.
Full concentration on the role while working during these hours.

Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
