Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Helper/Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting food preparation, ensuring food safety, and delivering excellent food service to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, experience in food handling, and a strong understanding of kitchen operations within a restaurant or food industry setting.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
Support cooking activities, including chopping, mixing, and plating dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety protocols
Serve prepared dishes promptly and efficiently to ensure quality presentation and customer satisfaction
Assist with inventory management by stocking ingredients and supplies as needed
Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
Support other kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth operation

Skills

Experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly
Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent serving skills with attention to presentation detail
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn new techniques
Familiarity with the food industry standards for hygiene and safety
