Full job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

360 Surveys is hiring a SURVEYOR.

THIS IS NOT A FLY IN FLY OUT POSITION.

The job location is Valentine Lake Gold Mine in Central Newfoundland and the project includes upgrading the main access road to the site, building sediment ponds, SAGR cells, survey support for mine operations as needed and various other projects throughout the year. Experience with Trimble survey equipment is necessary.

This job requires a strong work ethic and the drive to get tasks completed quickly and efficiently. The surveyor will work directly with operators, supervisors, managers, and engineering department daily.

Note: Applicants will be working a 14 and 7 shift with camp accommodations provided. There might be an option for 2 and 2 shift as we ramp up into the summer.

Duties:

Record field notes of daily survey activities and take photos.
Perform various survey tasks accurately and efficiently.
Ability to confidently troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment & vehicles.
Accurately record survey data, perform quality checks, and organize survey data.
Effectively communicate with Managers/Supervisors.
Capable of walking, kneeling, bending repeatedly and be in good physical health.
Complete tasks safely and be mindful of site-specific safety rules.
Working outdoors in various weather conditions (snow, rain, hot, cold).

Qualifications:

3+ years in a construction survey environment.
Completed civil engineering/geomatics diploma or equivalent.
Excellent GPS skills, preferably Trimble.
Experience with construction layout, slope staking, asbuilts and occasional field fits.
Experience importing/exporting survey data daily.
Experience using csv, dxf, and ttm files for layout.
Possess effective communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Able to read and comprehend engineering plans and specifications.
Civil3D and Trimble Business Center experience an asset.
Drone license and flight experience an asset.

Job Hours: Typically, 12 hr days (Overtime depends on weekly hours worked)
