SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS

The electrician will be responsible for the set up, repair, safety and efficiency of all production equipment within a food processing plant. Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Read blueprints and other drawings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
Service, adjust, and test machines, devices, and moving parts
Install, align, dismantle, and relocate stationary industrial machinery such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators
Work with automated equipment including PLCs, robotics, motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and refrigeration systems
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and layout plans
Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, CFIA, and health & safety requirements
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to maintain efficient operations
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

Must hold a valid 442A Industrial Electrician license in Ontario, Canada
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, automation, and controls
Knowledge of motors, conveyors, and packaging equipment
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong commitment to safety and food quality standards
Ability to work in refrigerated and fast-paced production environments
