Full job description

We are a medical corporation in Regina, Saskatchewan looking for in-house paralegal to assist us in our litigations.

Required experience: 2-3yrs civil litigation experience/ability to handle all phases of litigation from discovery through trial; experience in medical negligence, administrative law, tribunals, appeals, and judicial review; experience in assisting on legal proceedings and drafting pleadings and legal documents before the Federal Court, tribunals, provincial courts, appellate courts and Supreme Court of Canada

Duties will include the following: Draft legal documents and write trial briefs; Assist lawyers in preparation for mediation and judicial dispute resolutions; Prepare legal documents, court reports, and affidavits; Assemble documentary evidence in preparation for trial; Research records, court files, and other legal documents; Draft legal correspondence; Advise clients on legal proceedings; Interview clients, witnesses and other related parties; Oversee maintenance of judicial court records; Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing systems; Arrange pre-trial conferences and hearings; Schedule court trials; Coordinate administrative services

We’re looking for someone who can work on a fast-paced environment, can work under pressure, highly focused and attentive to detail, a motivated self-starter with superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to manage large caseload and multiple projects. Strong drafting and written and oral communication skills in English are necessary.

Must be adept in spreadsheet, legal software applications, MS Office, information management system, and database management

Qualifications/credentials: Bachelor's degree relevant to the job and In-house training from a law firm or law clerk program

Salary is $35.00/hr, 40hr work week.

Work location: (on-site) 2625 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4T 0X4
