As a Program Assistant in Mental Health and Substance Use with VCH, you will:

Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide administrative program support.

Assist in the processing of referral requests; acts as a receptionist; arranges appointments and maintains and monitors client charts.

Checks staff mileage expenses/travel claims, gathers and compiles statistical information, provides transcription services, word processes a variety of documents and correspondence, receives incoming/outgoing material, maintains inventory of program supplies, prepares program information packages, attends meetings and takes minutes, performs a variety of clerical duties, and engages in on-going team planning and program improvement.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Grade 12 and an approved Medical Office Assistant program and one (1) years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use worksite, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of office practices and procedures.

Knowledge of and proficiency in relevant software.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Ability to keyboard 50 w.p.m.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
