Job Description
What’s great about this job:
As a Sport Program Assistant, you will be at the centre of the action: setting up drills, running sport programs, engaging with youth, and generally bringing a positive, welcoming attitude to the space.
You will be working on an energetic and active Sport Programming Team. This team prides itself on creating the absolute best experience for the youth within our space, and puts our “Youth First, Always” value at the core of its work. The Sport Programming Team is passionate about the community, supporting our hourly staff, the impact of sport, and we love to collaborate, learn and grow in the fun, fast-paced and inclusive environment of MLSE LaunchPad.
Fostering a culture of warmth, acceptance and fun at MLSE LaunchPad while ensuring adherence to expectations, and that respect and kindness are prioritized.
Assisting with the design, implementation, and evaluation of a sport program schedule for program participants that includes age-appropriate activities and all elements of MLSE LaunchPad core programming standards. Instruct sport programs based on the specific sport and life skills objectives of MLSE LaunchPad programs.
Making sure that all of our youth are physically and mentally safe while participating in programming and that FUN is always top of mind.
We are one big team and we support each other on projects, proposals and events. Everything is “our job”.

Background and knowledge in children and youth sport, recreation, and/or physical activity programs is considered an asset. HIGH FIVE training, NCCP Certifications, Mental Health First Aid, sport specific coaching certifications and experience - we're here for all of those!
This is an in-person job and we are looking for someone with open availability in this role.
