Join Our Team as a Banquet Chef | Nita Lake Lodge Resort & Spa – Whistler, BC

At Nita Lake Lodge Resort & Spa, we’re looking for an experienced and organized Banquet Chef to lead our banquet culinary operations and help deliver exceptional event experiences across the property.

From weddings and corporate retreats to private dining experiences and large-scale events, this role is at the heart of executing high-quality culinary service for our banquet and catering program. You’ll work closely with our Executive Chef, Banquet team, and culinary leadership group to ensure every event is executed with consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead banquet kitchen operations and oversee event culinary execution
Coordinate banquet production, prep, and service timelines
Attend BEO meetings and collaborate with the Meetings & Events and Banquets teams on upcoming functions
Support and coach culinary team members during events and daily operations
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained
Work collaboratively with Banquets, Meetings & Events, and Food & Beverage leadership teams
Assist with menu execution, ordering, inventory, and prep management
Oversee food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards
Support staffing, scheduling, and overall kitchen leadership responsibilities
Maintain a calm, organized, and solutions-focused approach during high-volume service

What We’re Looking For

Red Seal certification or equivalent culinary experience preferred
Valid FoodSafe certification
Minimum 3 years of culinary leadership experience in banquets, events, or high-volume kitchens
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience coordinating large-scale events and multiple service timelines
Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
A hands-on leader who takes pride in both the guest experience and kitchen culture
