Full job description

Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of our client for an Accounts Receivable & Billing Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a well-established company in the construction industry.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in managing the accounts receivable process, customer billing, collections, and account reconciliations while ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle Accounts Receivable using an ERP system.
Process cash applications and perform account reconciliations.
Conduct collection calls and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Complete credit reference checks and set up new customer accounts.
Review, approve, and distribute invoices and customer statements.
Assist with customer billing and invoicing.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer concerns.
Prepare weekly and monthly Accounts Receivable reports.
Administer Moneris, DNB, and Equifax accounts.
Ensure company credit policies and procedures are followed.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Accounts Receivable, credit, and collections experience.
Experience with full-cycle Accounts Receivable processes.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Sound knowledge of credit and collection procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and confident when resolving customer issues.
Proven ability to build strong business relationships.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with Great Plains ERP is considered an asset.
Previous construction industry experience is strongly preferred.

Schedule

Monday to Friday - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Compensation & Benefits

$52,000-$70,000 per year, based on experience.
