Full job description

We are seeking a Construction Law Legal Assistant to support a busy legal practice focused on construction, business, real estate, and commercial litigation matters. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys managing legal documents, coordinating litigation files, supporting lawyers throughout the file lifecycle, and delivering exceptional client service in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, draft, format, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and other legal materials.
Support lawyers with construction law, business law, real estate, and litigation matters.
Maintain and organize client files from opening through closing while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Manage calendars, court deadlines, meetings, and appointments.
Coordinate communications with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
Conduct basic legal and factual research as required.
Track billable time and assist with file administration and workflow management.
Utilize legal practice management software to maintain organized records and support efficient file progression.
Provide administrative support while ensuring timely and responsive client service.

Qualifications

Experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.
Strong understanding of construction, business, and real estate legal matters.
Proficiency in preparing and formatting legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Legal Administration, Paralegal, or related post-secondary education is considered an asset.
Proficiency with legal practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
High level of attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site, team-oriented environment.
