Full job description

Knelsen Sand and Gravel Ltd. provide premier road, concrete, and precast construction products and services. We supply gravel, asphalt paving, ready-mix concrete, and offer reliable transportation services in trucking throughout Alberta, including Grande Prairie, Peace River, High Level, and Edmonton.

Wage expectation is dependent on experience.

Our team is looking for full-time Concrete Batcher/ Dispatcher in our Edmonton, AB location. Here’s what you can expect when working with us:

Responsibilities

As a Concrete Batcher/Dispatcher, you will be responsible for:

Taking and processing customer concrete orders
Scheduling concrete trucks and coordinating drivers
Batching concrete using a computerized batching system
Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels
Operating a front-end loader when required
Working closely with drivers, customers, and plant personnel to ensure efficient daily operations
Ensure NSC requirements are met and adhered to
Verify driver DVIR's, FLRA's, Hours of Service, and other company requirements

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in a ready-mix concrete plant (preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate)
Strong customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of the concrete or construction industry (an asset)
Understanding of concrete mix designs
Ability to manage truck fleets efficiently, reading maps, monitoring traffic, and tracking driver locations via GPS to ensure timely arrivals to sites.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
Mechanical aptitude and technical competence
Basic computer skills
The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a driver's abstract that meets company requirements
Knowledge of Edmonton and surrounding areas
Strong work ethic
Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and overtime
Ability to work in a high paced environment
Physically fit (ability to climb, lift, and work outdoors in various conditions)
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Pass a pre-employment drug screening
