ICD is currently seeking Boat Operators to support an oilsands reclamation project for a 2-to-3-month fixed term contract. The schedule for this position is a 14x14 rotation, working twelve 12-hour shifts for the duration of the project. Experience working on and operating marine equipment is essential.
Travel for non-local hires is 100% reimbursed in the form of flights or fuel, and all accommodations are professionally cleaned and fully furnished, including a full kitchen with dishes and appliances, tv, cable, a washer/dryer, Wi-Fi. Transportation to and from work is also provided!

Responsibilities:
- Operation of various types of vessels such as barges, oil skimmers, push/tugboats, and other self-propelled vessels
- Monitor equipment during use and report any mechanical or operational issues
- Communicate with other vessels on the water
- Demonstrate efficient operational skills
- Mentor deckhands and other employees on vessels
- Complete all necessary daily paperwork. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, pre-trip and inspection logs, deliver receipts, vehicle inspection, permits, hours of service, etc.
- Assist other personnel across various job sites and other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years watercraft operating experience. MUST be comfortable working on water.
- General knowledge of boat operation and marine emergency responsibilities
- Must be able to demonstrate safe operational practices for marine equipment (including navigational)
- SDV-BS (MedA3) and Pleasure Craft License (PCL) are assets

Successful candidates must provide have following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
- Comprehensive alcohol and drug test clearance letter
- Copy of valid class 5 driver’s license
- Copy of clean 3-year driver’s abstract
- Copies of training certificates related to site-based work
