The company focuses on delivering accurate, timely, and well-supported valuation reports for a variety of residential and rural properties. Knight & Company Appraisals Ltd. works with lenders, legal professionals, and private clients who rely on high-quality appraisals for financing, litigation, estate planning, and other purposes. The team emphasizes integrity, clear communication, and adherence to industry standards to support informed real estate decisions.

Role Description

We are looking for a residential appraiser with the ability to appraise a variety of single and multi-family residential properties including acreage and rural recreational properties throughout the Edmonton region. The appraiser will perform full-time, on-site appraisal work in the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area as well as servicing the rural areas including but not limited to Whitecourt, Barrhead, Edson, Drayton Valley and surrounding Edmonton region. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting residential and rural properties, gathering and verifying market data, analyzing comparable sales, and preparing detailed appraisal reports that comply with CUSPAP. The appraiser will communicate with clients and stakeholders to clarify assignment conditions, timelines, and report requirements. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local market trends, relevant legislation, and professional standards, as well as managing scheduling, documentation, and quality control for each assignment.

Qualifications

Candidates should be a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. CRA designation is an asset.
Candidates are fully proficient in reading and writing English at a post secondary level. Proficiency in additional language(s) is an asset.
Candidates should have strong analytical and computer skills and be familiar with Adobe and MS Office. Familiarity with Report PRO, RPS forms and NAS adobe forms would be an asset.
Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills, including attention to detail, data interpretation, and sound judgment when reconciling value indications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear, defensible report writing and client interactions.
Candidates are self-directed and able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site property inspections. Candidates must be willing to travel outside the city.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and clients.

Pay: $50,000.00-$200,000.00 per year
