THE OPPORTUNITY
The Framing Division Manager is responsible for the startup, leadership, and ongoing operational success of the framing division. This role provides both strategic direction and hands-on oversight to ensure all framing activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and building codes.
This position plays a critical role in building and scaling the division, including establishing processes, leading workforce development, and driving production performance while maintaining strong safety and cost control discipline.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Division Startup & Strategy
- Lead the establishment and launch of the framing division from initial planning through full operational execution.
- Define divisional scope, production capacity, staffing requirements, and long-term growth strategy.
Operations & Production Management
- Oversee day-to-day framing operations across all assigned projects.
- Ensure framing crews are properly staffed, supervised, and equipped.
- Monitor productivity, labour efficiency, and job progress against targets.
- Collaborate with construction teams, inspectors, and general contractors to ensure quality execution.
Workforce Leadership
- Recruit, trial, and build a qualified framing workforce on a subcontract basis.
- Provide leadership, direction, and performance management for framing crews.
- Promote a strong safety-first and accountability-driven culture.
Financial & Cost Control
- Manage labour budgets, job costing, and productivity performance.
- Review cost reports and proactively address variances impacting profitability.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure all framing work complies with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Enforce occupational health and safety legislation and company safety policies.
- Promote ongoing safety training and active site engagement.
Reporting & Coordination
- Communicate risks, delays, or manpower constraints to leadership in a timely manner.
- Coordinate warranty and closeout documentation (as-builts, warranties, maintenance notes) as required.
- Oversee SupplyPro/customer portal audits and report findings to regional leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in framing, residential construction, or large-scale carpentry operations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing field crews or subcontractor networks.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction drawings, and quality standards.
- Experience with job costing, budgeting, and labour productivity tracking.
- Ability to build, scale, and manage high-performing trade teams.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as required.
