Join TEAM GREEN at GFL Environmental and become our newest Tractor Trailer Driver supporting our recycling team in Calgary, AB!

Requirements:

Licensing: Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract.
Driving Experience: Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience.
Previous experience with Roll Off bins
Equipment Operation: Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial vehicles and hydraulic systems.
Forklift and Skid Steer and Telehandler experience.
Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
Reliability: Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.

Responsibilities:

Safe Fleet Operation: Safely operate tractor-trailer truck and on-board hydraulic systems.
Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs and paperwork. Make sure each load is secure by checking that tarp is closed properly and that no loose trash is visible.
System Operations: Skillfully operate hydraulic systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
Reporting & Maintenance: Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
Service Quality: Maintain high productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with facility personnel and Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.
Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
May be required to work overtime.
