We believe every student can succeed with the right guidance and support. We provide individualized tutoring tailored to each student's needs, helping them build confidence and master their subjects. Our students benefit from weekly one-on-one sessions and supportive drop-in hours where homework questions can be solved instantly. We maintain a steady base of returning students, so tutors here build long-term relationships rather than one-off sessions.

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor in Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Functions, and Calculus to join our Markham location. The ideal candidate is comfortable teaching all four subjects at the Grade 12 level and can move confidently between them depending on student need. More than subject mastery, we're looking for someone who can explain difficult concepts clearly and adapt their teaching style to how each student learns. Sessions are primarily weekday evenings (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM), with occasional online sessions available.

Duties:

Tutor high school students in Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Functions, and Calculus, with strong command of all four at the Grade 12 level.
Build consistent relationships with students through regular sessions.
Motivate students to understand concepts, solve problems, and achieve academic success.
Track and communicate student progress over time.
Use provided teaching materials, and adapt them to individual student needs.
Support students in homework help and concept reinforcement across subjects.

Qualifications:

Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Grade 12 Physics and Chemistry, as well as advanced high school math (Functions, Calculus).
Degree (or current enrollment) in Physics, Chemistry, Math, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of tutoring or teaching experience, or equivalent academic/TA experience.
Able to break down complex concepts in a way that's clear and engaging, not just correct.
Organized, reliable, and results-driven.
Fluent in written and spoken English.

To Apply:

Please include a short response (2–3 sentences) to the following: Describe how you'd explain a concept you find easy but many students find difficult (e.g., related rates, redox reactions, or projectile motion). This helps us understand your teaching style, not just your subject knowledge.

Schedule:

Weekdays, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM (minimum 3 days per week).
Saturdays, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Some flexibility for online sessions as needed.

Location:

Markham, ON (in-person preferred)

Some online tutoring flexibility

Position Type: Part-time, permanent
