The Role - Making Every Space Work Better
We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on team player who takes pride in keeping properties safe, functional, and well-maintained. You enjoy staying active, tackling a variety of maintenance tasks, and responding quickly to issues as they arise. From routine repairs and inspections to seasonal upkeep, you bring care, consistency, and attention to detail to everything you do.

Availability requirements: Candidates may be scheduled for 16-24 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm EST based on their availability.
Pay rate: $21 per hour
What You’ll Be Doing - Every Day is Game Day
Departmental Duties
- Maintenance, Repairs & Site Upkeep:
- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Paint, perform carpentry, and upkeep of interior/exterior areas.
- Conduct roof inspections and maintain HVAC units including filters and drain caps.
- Assist with snow removal, salting, de-icing, and seasonal property prep.
- Maintain property grounds, parking lot structures, bollards, fire hydrants, and general site infrastructure.
- Safety, Compliance & Inspections:
- Conduct monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, magnetic locks, and fire exits.
- Adjust timers, check lighting schedules, and maintain emergency systems in accordance with seasonal needs.
- Follow all safety policies and protocols, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout, hazardous material handling, fall protection, and confined space safety.
- Perform proactive inspections of the full premises for maintenance and safety risks and report findings to supervisor.
- Document and report all safety incidents and near-misses in a timely manner.
- Report all safety hazards and recurring issues to Director through weekly logs.
- Work Orders, Tools & Operational Reporting:
- Complete and track work orders accurately, including before-and-after photos.
- Ensure tools and maintenance equipment are stored properly and kept in safe working order.
- Manage proper storage and disposal of tools, supplies, and hazardous materials.
- Support month-end reporting by preparing and submitting operational summaries as requested.
- Adopt and utilize digital work order systems and maintenance tracking apps to improve response time, task accuracy, and equipment oversight.
- Use digital logs and automated alerts to prioritize maintenance requests and identify recurring issues.
- Tenant Support & Professional Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to tenant requests and direction from supervisors.
- Uphold and promote the organization’s values, ethics, and integrity in all work performed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Assistant Property Manager or Director.
What You Bring - Skills That Turn Heads
- 2+ years of mall or commercial facility maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, fire panels, and electrical systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate power tools safely.
- Certification in WHMIS, Working at Heights, and/or First Aid.
- Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).
Additional Requirements That Will Make You Stand Out
- Certification in WHMIS / Working at Heights / First Aid.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Bilingual (English/French or other local language), tenant-facing communication skill.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, including navigating various areas of the property.
- Comfort working in tight spaces and at heights as required.
- Ability to handle physical tasks involving mobility and heavy-weight items.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Steel-toe shoes and safety glasses must be worn at all times.

2. Pre-Screen Interview: If your resume is suitable we will connect with you for a quick pre-screen interview, and you will be required to complete a predictive index assessment post the interview
3. In-Person Interview: Qualified candidates are invited for a single interview with the Director, Property Management.
4. Final Interview: Once successful you will have a final interview with people and culture business partner.
5. Offer process: If you are successful through the interview process, you will first receive a verbal offer, which is subject to a criminal record check and reference checks. After these are completed, a written offer will be issued.
