Description of Job:

Reporting to the Communications Center Manager, dispatchers are responsible for handling all emergency calls, non-emergency and administrative calls and receiving complaints and inquiries from the public. Must also evaluate calls according to established protocol, dispatch calls in order of priority, operate police/fire specific programs, and perform clerical office duties and other related duties.

Employment Type

Part-Time position with the Bathurst Police Force.
May be scheduled for up to 48 hours per week.

Salary:

$29.17/ hour (Following the Collective Agreement);
The City of Bathurst offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Required Qualifications:

Secondary level diploma or equivalent.
Experience in multitasking customer service experience is an asset
Must be flexible to accommodate the employer when needed on short notice.
Must be willing to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Ability to function in both official languages (English and French), spoken and written is required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
All individuals will be subject to a security clearance check, language testing and a typing test and hearing test.

Description du poste:

Relevant du gestionnaire du centre des communications, les candidats(es) choisis seront responsables de traiter tous les appels d’urgence, de recevoir des plaintes et des demandes du public, d’effectuer des tâches administratives, de taper des documents à l’ordinateur, de travailler avec des programmes informatiques liés au service de police, et de s’occuper de toute autre tâche exigée.

Type d’emploi

Positions à temps partiel au sein de la Force policière de Bathurst.
Peut être assigné jusqu’à 48 heures de travail par semaine.

Salaire:

29.17 $ / heure (conformément à la convention collective);
La Ville de Bathurst offre un salaire annuel concurrentiel avec d’excellents avantages sociaux.

Qualifications requises:

Diplôme d’études secondaires ou l’équivalent;
De l’expérience en service à la clientèle avec multitâches est un atout;
Doit être flexible pour accommoder l'employeur en cas de besoin à court préavis;
Doit être disposé(e) à travailler les quarts rotatifs et les heures supplémentaires au besoin;
Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite et capacité à fonctionner dans les deux langues officielles (français et anglais);
Tous les candidat(e)s devront se soumettre à une évaluation des habilitations de sécurité, à une évaluation des connaissances linguistiques et à un test de dactylographie et d’audition.
