What You’ll Be Responsible For
As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you'll be involved in the complete design and development of custom automation systems—from initial concepts through manufacturing and assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom automated equipment and mechanical systems for a variety of applications
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and Bills of Materials using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Develop assembly layouts, machine designs, and detailed manufacturing drawings using 3D CAD software
- Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, electricians, and assembly teams throughout the build process
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly, answering design-related questions as needed
- Research and select components, working directly with suppliers to identify the best solutions for each project
- Ensure designs meet quality, performance, and customer requirements
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve equipment performance and functionality
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Required Qualifications:
- Educational background in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in Robotics and Automation
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an automation or machine-building environment
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD design
- Solid understanding of drafting standards, GD&T, and mechanical design principles
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
Nice-to-Have:
- Hands-on experience in a skilled trade, manufacturing, or machine building environment
- Experience designing custom equipment and automated assembly systems
