SUMMARY:
A 2nd Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking various food items according to recipes and airline menu specifications. Candidate must follow consistently all the food safety and HACCP principles in line with Gate Gourmet Food Safety policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for timely, proper, and efficient preparation of all food items according to the correct menu specifications, recipes, and passenger load requirements.
· Ensure the proper use of raw materials in a continuous effort to keep wastage to a minimum.
· Comply with and practice the company’s established Food Safety/ HACCP Policy and Procedures.
· Assuring that the quality standards of the food is maintained all the time
· Co-ordinate with Assembly/Food Packing staff to make sure their work is not delayed, and all dished meals are in accordance with the airline specs
· Responsible for managing inventory, ensure FIFO is being followed
· Should have basic knowledge, experience, and skills to work with various modern kitchen equipment – Rational Oven, Fryer, Steam Kettles, Char Broiler, Flat top Stove, Cooking Gas range etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
· At least 1-year experience cooking in a hotel kitchen/restaurant or manufacturing high volume catering environment
· Experience cooking in various cuisines – Continental/Asian is an asset
· Must be able to read, write and follow food specifications and menu guidelines in English

· Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holidays

· Must be able to read and write reports in English
ENVIROMENT:
· Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
· Will work in extremely cold temperatures of 30 degrees or lower for extended periods of time
· Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to seventy-five (75) pounds
· Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
