We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Immigration Caseworker / Senior Immigration Case Manager to join our growing immigration practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience handling complex immigration and refugee matters and must be capable of independently managing files from intake to final decision.
This position is not suitable for fresh graduates or candidates without direct immigration and refugee law experience.
Key Responsibilities
Refugee law
- Prepare and manage refugee claims from initial consultation to final hearing.
- Draft and review Basis of Claim (BOC) forms.
- Prepare disclosure packages and supporting documentation.
- Draft legal submissions, affidavits, witness statements, and supporting letters.
- Assist with Refugee Protection Division (RPD) hearings.
- Prepare Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) appeals and submissions.
- Prepare applications for Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA).
- Prepare Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) applications.
- Assist with Immigration Division (ID) and Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) matters.
- Prepare detention review hearing materials.
- Conduct legal research and case law analysis.
- Draft submissions, legal arguments, and procedural fairness responses.
Immigration Applications
- Prepare and submit Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) applications.
- Prepare Visitor Visa, Study Permit, Work Permit, and Extension applications.
- Prepare Permanent Residence applications under various categories.
- Prepare Spousal Sponsorship and Family Sponsorship applications.
- Prepare Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications.
- Prepare Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) applications.
- Assist with Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications.
- Manage Employer Portal submissions and compliance documentation.
- Respond to IRCC requests and procedural fairness letters.
Documentation and Client Management
- Draft invitation letters, support letters, and statutory declarations.
- Prepare affidavits for notarization and commissioner services.
- Organize and maintain client files and case management systems.
- Conduct client interviews and gather supporting evidence.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filing of applications and appeals.
- Communicate professionally with clients, government agencies, and third parties.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience in Canadian immigration and refugee matters.
- Strong understanding of:
