About Us

Global Logistics Freight Solutions (GLFS) is a Canadian freight forwarding and logistics company providing air, ocean, and ground transportation solutions across cross-border and international trade lanes.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Freight Operations Coordinator to manage end-to-end shipment handling for either import or export freight, across ocean (FTL/LCL) and air modes. This role owns the shipment lifecycle from booking through delivery, working closely with overseas agents, carriers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate import or export shipments via ocean (FTL and LCL) and air freight
Prepare, verify, and manage OBLs and AWBs
Liaise directly with overseas agents to manage shipment handoffs, documentation, and issue resolution
Prepare customs documentation and supporting paperwork for cross-border movement
Monitor shipment status end-to-end and proactively update customers
Manage exception handling, including customs holds, carrier delays, and documentation discrepancies
Maintain accurate shipment records in our freight management system
Support accurate invoicing by ensuring profit and cost data is correctly recorded per shipment
Work collaboratively within the operations team while managing own workload with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience within freight forwarder operations, with hands-on OBL/AWB handling
Demonstrated experience working with overseas agents on shipment coordination
Solid understanding of FTL and LCL ocean freight processes
Working knowledge of Incoterms and customs documentation for cross-border trade
Experience with freight management systems is an asset
Strong Excel skills
Self-starter who also works well as part of a team
CIFFA certification or equivalent is an asset
