Our company is hiring an experienced Residential HVAC Installer and Class B Gas Fitter to join our growing team.
This is a full-time, installation-focused position for someone who takes pride in clean workmanship, knows how to lead a residential retrofit properly, and wants to work for a company that recognizes quality, reliability, and strong customer feedback.
The majority of your work will involve residential HVAC installations. You will also occasionally assist with service, repair, maintenance, or diagnostic work when needed.
You will be provided with a helper so you can focus on leading the installation, completing the skilled work, maintaining quality standards, and making sure the finished system is safe, clean, and operating properly.

What This Role Looks Like:
This is primarily a residential HVAC installation position.
Most days will involve equipment replacements, system upgrades, retrofit installations, commissioning, and installation-related projects.
You will lead the installation with the support of an assigned helper who will assist with:
- Equipment handling
- Demolition and removal
- Material movement
- Job-site preparation
- Cleanup
- General installation support
You will be responsible for directing the work, completing the technical portions of the installation, checking quality, and ensuring the system is operating properly before the job is finished.
Occasionally, you may also be assigned residential service, repair, maintenance, or diagnostic work depending on scheduling and workload.
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys installation work but is also comfortable troubleshooting equipment when needed.
Primary Installation Responsibilities:
- Lead residential HVAC installations with the support of an assigned helper
- Install furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, indoor coils, thermostats, and related accessories
- Remove and replace existing heating and cooling equipment
- Complete residential retrofit installations in accordance with manufacturer requirements and applicable codes
- Install gas piping, venting, condensate piping, refrigeration line sets, drain lines, equipment pads, controls, and accessories
- Complete ductwork transitions, plenums, fittings, and sheet-metal modifications
- Set, level, secure, and connect indoor and outdoor equipment
- Complete mechanical, gas, electrical, venting, drainage, refrigeration, and control connections within your qualifications
- Pressure test, evacuate, charge, commission, and verify refrigeration systems where qualified
- Start up and test newly installed equipment
- Confirm proper airflow, temperatures, combustion, drainage, controls, and system performance
- Troubleshoot and correct installation-related issues before completion
- Protect customers’ homes, flooring, walls, and finished surfaces
- Maintain accurate photographs, notes, equipment records, and material tracking
- Remove old equipment, packaging, debris, and unused materials
- Leave every job clean, safe, organized, and professionally finished
Occasional Service and Repair Work:
This is not primarily a service position, but you may occasionally complete service, maintenance, diagnostic, or repair calls.
This may include:
- Diagnosing and repairing residential HVAC and gas equipment
- Performing seasonal maintenance and safety inspections
- Troubleshooting furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, fireplaces, boilers, water heaters, and thermostats
- Diagnosing ignition systems, gas valves, pressure switches, blower motors, control boards, venting issues, airflow concerns, and refrigeration problems
- Completing combustion testing, gas leak checks, electrical testing, and system performance checks
- Identifying whether equipment should be repaired or replaced
- Explaining findings and repair options clearly to homeowners
- Completing accurate service notes, photographs, estimates, and invoices
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced installer who is confident, reliable, and proud of the finished product.
You should have:
- Strong residential HVAC installation and retrofit experience
- Residential gas-fitting experience
- Experience installing furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, indoor coils, and controls
- Strong knowledge of gas piping, venting, ductwork, sheet metal, refrigeration line sets, condensate systems, and mechanical systems
- The ability to lead an installation and direct a helper effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- The ability to read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and manufacturer instructions
- Enough service and repair experience to handle occasional diagnostic calls
- Clean and professional workmanship
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication with homeowners and team members
- Reliability, punctuality, and personal accountability
- Pride in completing the job properly the first time
Required Qualifications:
- Valid British Columbia Class B Gas Fitter certificate
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Residential furnace installation and retrofit experience
- Residential heat pump and air-conditioning installation experience
- Gas piping and venting experience
- Sheet-metal and ductwork modification experience
- Ability to safely lift and move HVAC equipment, tools, and materials
- Ability to work legally in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic ticket
- Red Seal refrigeration certification
- Strong refrigeration installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience
- Residential HVAC service and repair experience
- Boiler and hydronic heating experience
- Gas fireplace and water-heater experience
- Electrical and control troubleshooting experience
- Experience with communicating and variable-capacity HVAC systems
- Experience using digital job-management software, tablets, photographs, and electronic documentation
- Experience with brands such as Lennox, Daikin, American Standard, Tosot, Bradford White, Navien, Rinnai, Regency, Valor, and Enviro
