Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with warehouse management systems and shipping/receiving processes is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Oversee the shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all products are accurately logged and tracked.
Load and unload shipments using forklifts, reach trucks, or order pickers as necessary.
Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to management.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely processing of orders.
Organize the warehouse space efficiently to facilitate easy access to products.
Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining stock levels.
Banding, shrink wrapping, and pallet packing (required)
Create shipments using the computer and shipping software
Prepare shipping documents, labels including bill of lading and packing slips for domestic and international orders
Monitor shipments and follow up on orders that are delayed or held at the border
Respond to issues such as insufficient documentation or customs delays
Communicate with customers regarding order status, shipping updates, and documentation if required
Load and unload shipments and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy
Maintain an organized and clean shipping area

Qualifications

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, particularly in shipping and receiving roles.
Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers is required.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills to interact with team members and other departments.
Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
