About our Natural Stone Fabricator
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Natural Stone Fabricator to join our team. As a Natural Stone Fabricator, you will play a key role in creating high-quality, visually appealing natural stone products. Your expertise in fabricating, polishing, and grinding natural stone will be crucial in transforming raw materials into finished pieces that meet our customers' expectations. You will work with various types of natural stone, including granite, marble, and quartz, to fabricate countertops, fireplaces, and custom pieces. Precision, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards are paramount in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Fabrication:
- Utilize your expertise to fabricate and build natural stone pieces based on the instructions provided on shop drawings.
- Apply appropriate techniques and tools to shape, cut, and assemble stone materials accurately.
2. Polishing and Grinding:
- Employ polishing and grinding techniques to enhance the appearance and quality of the fabricated stone pieces.
- Ensure smooth edges, consistent finishes, and desired texture on the stone surfaces.
3. Dimensional Checks and Q/A:
- Conduct thorough inspections of dimensions and part details before and after assembly to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify any discrepancies or issues and take corrective measures as necessary.
4. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with the shop foreman, machinists, quality assurance personnel, and polishers to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the fabrication process.
- Coordinate with supervisors to align with daily production goals, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
6. Repairs and Restoration:
- Manage and work on repairs for natural stone parts, employing appropriate techniques to restore their integrity and quality.
- Identify damaged or flawed areas and implement effective repair solutions.
7. Work Area Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Promote a safe and efficient work environment for yourself and others
What we are looking for
- 1 year of experience in fabricating natural and engineered stone, including material inspection, material handling, cutting, grinding, and polishing.
- Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings.
- Ability to read and understand assembly instructions.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in accordance with company policies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain proper record keeping according to company policy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask on different projects simultaneously.
- Proactive approach to work and willingness to take initiative.
- Positive attitude that promotes a team environment.
- Keen eye for details
- An excellent understanding of building concepts and terminology such as: level, plumb, square, flush and so on.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to respond well to constructive criticism and direction.
