About Us
The Sound Public Tavern, set along the shoreline of Britannia Beach, BC, this new concept celebrates smash burgers & burritos, and the vibrant flavors of the Pacific Northwest, all delivered with Autostrada’s signature warmth and care.

The Opportunity
We are currently hiring a Sous Chef to join the leadership team at The Sound tavern

As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely to support all aspects of kitchen operations, from prep and execution to mentorship and systems. You’ll be a leader on the line and an integral part of daily success, bringing consistency, creativity, and positive energy to every service.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Support

Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations
Help lead the back-of-house team through prep and service
Support a clean, organized, and collaborative kitchen culture
Mentor junior staff and help foster continuous improvement

Culinary Execution

Uphold Autostrada’s high standards for food quality and presentation
Maintain consistency in execution across all stations and menu items
Contribute to prep planning, station setup, and quality control
Participate in service and lead by example on the line

Kitchen Operations

Support ordering, inventory, and kitchen organization
Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health standards
Assist with scheduling and daily operational planning as needed

Sound management and leadership skills
Optimistic and positive approach to leading staff and handling problems,
Set and maintain a professional clean workspace,
Passion for fresh food and scratch cooking, be inspired by locally grown ingredients and supporting local businesses,
Familiarity with industry’s best practices,
Ability to prepare and administer department budgets within company guidelines,
Willingness to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings and stat holidays when necessary, particularly during peak season (May - September)
