NIGHT AUDITOR - LOCATED IN CALEDON (ALTON), ONTARIO
We are looking for an experienced Night Auditor to join our hospitality team, who will be responsible for overseeing the front desk operations during the night shift, balancing the day’s accounts, and ensuring a smooth and efficient end-of-day process. This role combines front desk duties with accounting responsibilities, requiring strong customer service skills and attention to detail. This role reports to the Guest Experience Supervisor.
The successful candidate must be highly diligent, thrives working independently, detail oriented and demonstrate a forward-thinking approach. This role reports to the Guest Experience Manager.

Front Desk Operations:
- Greet and assist guests with check-in and check-out processes.
- Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Answer phone calls and manage reservations
- Maintain a clean and welcoming front desk and lobby area
Accounting Duties:
- Balance and audit all daily transactions.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports to management
- Reconcile and post all revenue and expenses to the appropriate accounts
- Process and verify credit card transactions.
Night Audit Procedures:
- Perform end-of-day procedures, including closing the system and preparing the audit package.
- Ensure all financial transactions for the day are accounted for and correctly posted.
- Run audit reports to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Security and Safety:
- Monitor and security of the property during the night shift.
- Conduct regular property walks to ensure safety and security.
- Respond to emergency situations and escalate to appropriate personnel if necessary.
Guest Services:
- Provide wake-up calls as requested by guests.
- Assist with guest luggage if necessary.
- Offer recommendations for local attractions and dining options.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of guest information and transactions.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Post secondary education in hospitality management, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required; previous night audit experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience in front desk operations or accounting preferred.
- Experience with hotel management software (e.g., Maestro, Opera) is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic accounting and math.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Work in a hotel environment, which may involve interaction with diverse guests and staff.
