Elementary School Teacher (JK to Grade 8)

Full-Time Contract Position
Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (6 to 8 hours per day)

Overview

Caledonia Islamic School is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and nurturing Elementary School Teacher for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. This is a full-time contractual position with opportunities for growth as the school continues to expand.

The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment while supporting the academic, social, and spiritual development of students. Class sizes are expected to range from 15 to 20 students.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students.
Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Assess, monitor, and document student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and school leadership to promote student success.
Integrate Islamic teachings, values, and character development into classroom learning and activities.
Participate in school programs, events, and extracurricular activities.
Coordinate and supervise volunteers as needed.
Maintain effective classroom management and positive student behavior.

Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Strong understanding of Islamic principles, teachings, and values.
Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or community setting is preferred.
Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a growing school community.
