Architectural Technologist

John Trinh & Associates Inc. – Design & Permits
Location: Calgary, AB (Full-Time, In-Office)

About the Role

John Trinh & Associates Inc. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join our growing team in Calgary. This is a full-time, in-office position where you will work on a wide variety of residential and light commercial projects, including custom homes, duplexes, rowhouses, renovations, additions, secondary suites, and development/building permit applications.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality drawings, coordinating project documentation, and working closely with our design team to ensure projects meet client expectations and municipal requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare architectural, working, and construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
Produce accurate Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) drawing packages
Coordinate and review construction documents for accuracy and completeness
Ensure drawings comply with Alberta Building Code, City of Calgary Land Use Bylaw, and applicable regulations
Work collaboratively with designers, architects, engineers, and project coordinators
Revise drawings based on client, consultant, and municipal feedback
Review projects for quality control before submission
Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Qualifications

SAIT Architectural Technologies Diploma (or equivalent Architectural Technology diploma)
Proficient in Revit (required)
Proficient in AutoCAD (required)
Strong understanding of architectural drafting and detailing
Experience preparing construction and working drawings
Knowledge of Alberta Building Code and City of Calgary permitting processes is an asset
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
