Marketing Manager
Sunridge Mazda is looking for an experienced, creative, and highly organized Marketing Manager to join our team.
This is a hands-on dealership marketing role with a strong digital and systems component. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for supporting the dealership’s marketing strategy, website presence, social media content, campaign execution, CRM processes, vendor coordination, customer-facing communications, and internal dealership systems. A strong technical background is not mandatory, but candidates with experience in computers, dealership software, networks, digital tools, and internal systems support will be considered especially strong applicants.
This role works in close collaboration with the Sales Managers, Service Manager, Parts Manager, Finance Managers, General Sales Manager, Dealer Principal, and other department heads to support the continued growth of the dealership.
The successful candidate will be an experienced marketing professional who is creative, adaptable, detail-oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
Overview of Role
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing marketing initiatives that support all areas of the dealership, including New Vehicle Sales, Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, and dealership-wide events.
This role requires someone who can think creatively, write effectively, manage projects, work with vendors, support digital platforms, assist with dealership technology, and help turn management ideas into organized, professional, customer-facing campaigns.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable moving between creative work, technical problem-solving, website updates, internal communication, campaign planning, content creation, and cross-department coordination.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Campaign Management
- Plan, develop, and execute dealership marketing campaigns across digital, in-store, social media, email, website, and event channels.
- Create and coordinate promotional campaigns for new vehicles, used vehicles, service, parts, finance, and dealership events.
- Work with management to develop campaign concepts, timelines, budgets, advertising messages, and supporting materials.
- Ensure campaigns are aligned with dealership goals, manufacturer guidelines, brand standards, current inventory priorities, and seasonal opportunities.
- Track campaign performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Research market trends, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and new marketing opportunities.
- Help choose the most effective advertising channels for each product, service, promotion, or department initiative.
- Address campaign issues, troubleshoot concerns, and adjust marketing plans when needed.
Digital Marketing, Website & SEO
- Manage and update dealership website content, including landing pages, banners, promotional pages, department pages, inventory-related content, service/parts messaging, and event pages.
- Support search engine optimization strategies by improving website copy, page structure, content relevance, internal linking, and online visibility.
- Coordinate with website providers and digital vendors to implement updates, resolve issues, improve user experience, and support lead generation.
- Review website performance, customer journey issues, online forms, calls-to-action, digital retailing tools, and page layouts to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with SEM, digital advertising, retargeting, paid media campaigns, and online traffic generation where applicable.
- Ensure online marketing content remains accurate, current, compliant, and consistent with dealership and manufacturer standards.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Manage and support dealership social media accounts, including content planning, posting, engagement, and campaign promotion.
- Create, coordinate, and oversee photo and video content for vehicles, staff, events, promotions, community initiatives, and dealership announcements.
- Work with staff and management to produce content that is professional, engaging, brand-appropriate, and relevant to customers.
- Support the development of video scripts, social captions, graphics, reels, promotional posts, short-form videos, email visuals, and other creative assets.
- Maintain a consistent tone and visual identity across all public-facing platforms.
- Monitor customer engagement, comments, reviews, and feedback where applicable.
CRM, Lead Process & Customer Communication
- Support dealership CRM processes, lead follow-up campaigns, automated communications, appointment reminders, customer retention efforts, and sales process improvements.
- Work with Sales Managers and department heads to improve customer communication, lead handling, and internal workflows.
- Assist with CRM updates, vendor coordination, process documentation, and staff training where needed.
- Help monitor customer touchpoints, email campaigns, database marketing, and service/sales retention opportunities.
- Support the creation and improvement of email templates, text templates, follow-up procedures, appointment processes, and customer-facing communication.
- Help identify process gaps that affect lead handling, customer experience, or dealership efficiency.
Technology, IT & Dealership Systems Support
- Provide basic technical support for dealership staff as it relates to computers, software, phones, user accounts, dealership systems, printers, shared drives, website tools, CRM tools, and other day-to-day applications.
- Assist with troubleshooting common technical issues and coordinate with external IT providers or software vendors when additional support is required.
- Support the setup, organization, and maintenance of dealership workstations, user access, system logins, shared resources, and digital tools.
- Help manage and support dealership applications such as CRM systems, website platforms, digital retailing tools, lead management systems, manufacturer portals, marketing platforms, and related software.
- Work with department heads to identify process gaps, technical issues, or system inefficiencies that impact customer experience, lead handling, staff productivity, or dealership operations.
- Assist with software rollouts, system transitions, staff training, vendor communication, and internal process documentation.
- Maintain an organized understanding of how different dealership systems connect and support the Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, Administration, and Management teams.
- Support internal technology projects that improve communication, organization, reporting, or dealership workflow.
Events, Promotions & Community Engagement
- Plan and support dealership events, sales events, launch events, customer appreciation initiatives, community programs, and in-store promotions.
- Coordinate event materials, advertising, signage, staff communication, customer-facing messaging, and post-event follow-up.
- Work with department managers to ensure events are properly supported by the sales, service, parts, finance, and administrative teams.
- Help develop community-facing campaigns and dealership outreach initiatives that strengthen Sunridge Mazda’s reputation in Calgary.
- Assist with event planning details such as timelines, promotional materials, staff instructions, prize tracking, customer communication, and dealership presentation.
Vendor, Budget & Brand Management
- Communicate and coordinate with advertising agencies, website providers, media vendors, print suppliers, signage companies, photographers, videographers, software providers, and other third-party partners.
- Request, review, and manage quotes, estimates, invoices, budgets, contracts, and advertising costs.
- Help ensure marketing expenses remain organized, justified, and within approved budgets.
- Ensure all marketing materials follow Mazda Canada advertising guidelines, dealership standards, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Maintain a professional, consistent, and trustworthy brand image across all marketing channels.
- Communicate clearly with vendors to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
Reporting, Communication & Department Support
- Review marketing results, website performance, campaign engagement, lead activity, customer feedback, and sales trends to help guide future decisions.
- Communicate clearly with management regarding marketing priorities, active campaigns, upcoming deadlines, and required department input.
- Create internal documents, process guides, campaign summaries, staff notices, training materials, and dealership communications as required.
- Support multiple departments with marketing-related needs, including Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, Administration, and Management.
- Help identify problems, troubleshoot campaigns, and create practical solutions that improve dealership performance.
- Use dealership reports, sales statistics, campaign results, and customer feedback to help evaluate marketing effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of marketing experience.
- Previous automotive dealership experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media strategy.
- Experience managing business social media accounts and creating content for multiple platforms.
- Experience with website management, landing pages, website updates, and digital lead generation.
- Strong writing skills for ads, emails, website copy, social media, internal communication, and campaign materials.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design/content creation tools.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, customer databases, lead management tools, and marketing automation.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Experience working with vendors, budgets, advertising materials, and campaign timelines.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and department requests at once.
- Ability to work in person and collaborate directly with dealership staff and management.
Major Assets
The following qualifications are not mandatory, but will be considered major assets:
- Strong technical ability with computers, software, dealership systems, and day-to-day IT troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting or troubleshooting computer workstations, printers, phones, user accounts, shared drives, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Outlook, and related workplace tools.
- Basic understanding of networks, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, user permissions, hardware setup, and common office technology issues.
- Experience working with dealership applications such as CRM systems, DMS systems, website platforms, digital retailing tools, inventory tools, service systems, manufacturer portals, and lead management software.
- Previous experience with SM360, DealerSocket, VinSolutions, PBS, CDK, AutoVance, Xtime, AutoAlert, or similar automotive systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with external IT providers, software vendors, website providers, advertising partners, and dealership staff.
- Experience documenting internal processes, creating training materials, supporting system transitions, or helping staff adopt new technology.
- A strong understanding of how marketing, CRM, website performance, lead handling, and dealership systems work together to support sales and customer experience.
- Experience with photography, videography, video editing, graphic design, or creative production.
- Experience planning dealership events, sales events, community campaigns, or in-store promotions.
