As a Compliance Process Specialist, you have the technical knowledge and experience to coordinate Court, Subdivision Development Appeal Board, and Security Deposit processes while working with confidential information in a fast-paced environment. Primary duties include:

Prepare court documents including case briefs, Information, Summonses, Subpoena's, and disclosure packages to required standards.
Draft Municipal Government Act (MGA) Orders and Subdivision Development Appeal Board (SDAB) reports.
Create and update electronic and physical court files and fine revenue data with information from violation tickets, summonses, and provincial court Justice Online Information Network (JOIN) reports.
Ensure all court policies, evidence and judicial processes and procedures are adhered to and all related systems, documents and physical records are current, accurate and correct for Alberta Court proceedings and SDAB hearings.
Track and verify the status and disposition of prosecution files.
Liaise with the City Law Department - Prosecutions Section, SDAB, Finance Department, Development Inspectors, and internal and external partners to coordinate court processes and information exchange.
Provide administrative services related to developer securities, including financial data entry, document preparation, mailing, filing, processing, and secure storage of monetary instruments.
Ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures in relation to records management practices and Access to Information Act (ATIA) and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) requirements.

Qualifications

A completed 1-year certificate in administration, business, communications, legal assistance, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience, OR;
A completed 2-year diploma in administration, business, communications, legal assistance, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience.
Experience in the prosecutions process, legal procedures, and legal document preparation is required.
A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits OR a Graduated Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is required.
Experience with Justice Online Information Network (JOIN) will be considered an asset.
You have exceptional communication skills with strong organizational skills and demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage constantly changing priorities.
Well-developed attention to detail is critical for success in this role.

Pre-employment Requirements

This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
